Grandpa Don’s Birthday, 2011

Mitch and I celebrated my dad's birthday this year by following a semi-regular tradition of seeing a Major League Baseball game.  Three generations of baseball fans taking in a game in the middle of summer.

We took the ferry from Larkspur to the ballpark to watch the Giants play their rivals from the 2010 National League Championship Series.  The guys drove down and met me at the ferry terminal. 

The water was a bit rough as the fog rolled in but the smiles were big in anticipation of watching the defending World Series champs.

Our seats were high behind home plate so we had a great view of the field.

Unfortunately, the Giants fell to the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 3-0.

Regardless of the outcome, it’s still a great time to see our favorite sport played at the highest level while spending time with my dad and my son.
