He Asked, She Answered

It was a beautiful night and we had just finished dinner in one of the restaurants along the street.  We were relaxing at the roof top terrace of our hotel with views of the Bosphorus, the Marmara Sea and the Istanbul city skyline.  Near our hotel was the beautiful Blue Mosque.  We could see the colorful lights of the Bosphorus Bridge that resembles the one back home in San Francisco.

As we sat holding each other in a loveseat, looking at the sights around us, Bob said there was only one thing that could make this night more perfect...

And that would be if Diane would answer his question with "Yes!".  He pushed aside the small table in front of the couch, knelt down on one knee, struggled to get the package out of his pocket and, while presenting it to her, asked

"Will you marry me?"

She held quiet for a moment, apparently to savior the moment, as her face began to glow.  What seemed like forever for Bob, was too short for Diane.

She answered "Yes!"

He Asked, She AnsweredPlenty of hugging and kissing followed.  They both took deep breaths and laughed that they both knew this day was coming.  Diane didn't know when, Bob wanted a moment of time that would be forever memorable.

The camera came out, this one taken by a member of the hotel staff using Bob's iPhone.

It was sent by mail to everyone on the trip email list.  Bob's family was expecting it.  Diane's family was not.

Kevin said we probably could have heard the Hoots and Hollers all the way to Turkey.
