Mountain Biking Haiku

Hot days last so long

Rocks, dirt trails up all day

Camelback's gone dry

Fallen leaves hide path

No keeping me off the trails

But to take a breath

Splashing in my face

Rolling on rocks into mud

Sun sets far too soon

New leaves, pleasing green

Match sky to beautiful blue

I ride to get here

Haiku is a focus on what the writer witnesses in everyday life that is more outstanding or important than normal, something deemed worth reaching for in written expression. Often taking the form of three lines of 5-7-5 syllables and including a seasonal reference. This is my modest attempt.
